General Info

The building is the headquarters for PIDC at the Navy Yard, and also houses offices for site property manager, CBRE, and the EEB Hub offices.  The building was heavily instrumented in 2012 and is subject to intense research scrutiny.  Building 101 is undergoing a phased energy retrofit, as measures are proposed and evaluated, and as systems reach end of life.

Auditing/Project Initiation Phase

Three energy audits conducted on building and were subject of earlier research report.

Proposed/Installed Energy Conservation Measures

A new BAS system was installed in the winter of 2013.  A brief evaluation of year over year electric energy consumption showed a 14% drop for a period in March 2013 compared with the prior year.

HVAC systems in the building are currently under evaluation for partial replacement due to condenser failure in one unit.  Additional HVAC and lighting recommendations are under evaluation.  A fourth energy audit is being arranged.
